I admire all who can see into the mysteries of things. Who can divine from the plainness of what is and the beauty of what could be.

I am a contemporary ceramic artist whose hand-built work explores the materiality of clay—its texture, ever-changing composition, form, and abstraction.

My work focuses on redefining human interaction with non-functional vessels and sculpture, and expanding textural concepts as they relate to form. My formal education in graphic design provides me with a well-informed background on what it means to reshape information and how it communicates to the viewer. While the creative process of graphic design differs from working with clay, I still utilize the same fundamental principles and elements of art. Through my dialogue with the material and lateral thinking, I strive to visually showcase compositional arrangements, spatial awareness, and aesthetics.

“It’s like witnessing the physicality of time in the natural world, and my work allows me the ability to contribute a piece of myself—a voice beyond my own brief existence. It’s a physical manifestation of my engagement with the world. As such, my work, and thus myself, will continuously interact with the planet both while I’m here and long after I’m gone.”
